We have been in business for over 20 years and will assist you in planning the best trip possible. We pride ourselves on our great customer service, and do all we can to assist our customers.The Maquoketa River is a sand and rock bottom river. It has a very slow current that is perfect for families with young children.Most of the river is under 2 feet deep. Alot of it only inches deep along the sand bars (nice for playing in the water), but as with most rivers there are some deep holes which makes it a very nice river for fishing also.It truly is the best of both worlds.   

 

 

 

 

 

Trips available

          *Leaving Lower Supples Bridge takes roughly 2-4 hours of float time to

          reach Canton Bridge

          *If that is not quite long enough we have a trip from Hwy 136 Bridge to Canton

          Bridge that will take about 4-6 hours of float time.

          *For a change in scenery we also offer a 4-6 hour trip from Canton Bridge to

          Royertown Bridge.

         *For the more adventurous types we also offer overnight trips. Where you could

         spend up to 4 days on the river. 

 

 

 

 

 

Company history

          We have been a family owned and operated business for over 20 years.We were founded by James & Barb Bickford, & Owen & Vicki Bickford & there daughters Jamie and Gina in 1986. They started with 6 canoes and a pickup and they thought they were busy when they were all rented. It is now managed by Gina and her husband Bob Laughlin. We have 52 canoes a suburban and 2 buses and we can accommodate a group of 72 people at one time
